This dictionary gathers about 1.100 terms related to otorhinolaryngology and corresponding to five thematic areas: otology, rhinology, pharyngology, laryngology and related disciplines. It offers the denominations and the definition in Catalan, the equivalents in Spanish and English and, in some cases, French, and where appropriate, international anatomic terms.
The Diccionari d’otorrinolaringologia ('Dictionary of otorhinolaryngology') was published on paper in 2011 by TERMCAT with the support of the Catalan Government and the collaboration of the experts Pere Abelló, Miquel Quer i Josep Maria Fabra, from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau) and the Otorhinolaryngology Catalan Society.
The online edition was updated and expanded, elaborated with the support of the Catalan Government Health Department and the advice of Montserrat Bonet, from the University of Barcelona. In the third edition on line the completion of the French equivalents has been carried out using terminology provided by the Basque Center for Terminology and Lexicography UZEI.
Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
